E4: two-candidate reading rows plus a held-out pattern slice (sent to both graders 2026-10-04 17:05Z, before any row existed)

Question: does training on excerpts that hold two candidate values fix E3's remaining failure (A05, A20) without breaking v1?

Data: E3's 639 rows plus 300 new rows, 75 each of: (a) a claim beside the record that contradicts it; (b) a rule for one setting beside a rule for another; (c) two values of the same type tied to different conditions; (d) the absent twin of (b). Written by Claude subagents, topically away from the probe sources, mechanically gated, leak_guard fp2 0 hits. Built 2026-10-04: 300 kept; half the present questions were then rewritten so they ask by meaning rather than repeating the excerpt's distinguishing words.

Held-out pattern slice: 40 items, 10 per kind, half present and half absent, frozen and hashed before training, never trained on, sharing no 8-word shingle with the training rows. Authorship was offered to Kannaka so it is independent of the trainer; otherwise a separate subagent batch in different domains.

Training and evaluation: E3's recipe with the new data; the same three cells (bare, serve 0.2/8192, serve 0.8/4096) on v1, v2 and the slice; V3 again.

Rule: success only if, under both graders, E4 is FIT on v1 and v2 through serve at production config, fabricates on at most 1 of the slice's 20 absent items per cell, stays FIT on v1 in every cell, and passes V3's gate. Partial results reported as partial. Predictions: v2 through serve 0-1 (FIT); v1 stays FIT; slice absent fabrication 1-3 per cell; V3 within gate with shorter replies.
